Chinese Medicine and Your Child

I want to give you an idea of how you as a parent can benefit from learning about Chinese medicine and your child.

Even though I was trained as a conventional pediatrician, I find the Chinese medicine system and way of evaluating a patient truly holistic and comprehensive because we are not limited by just the physical or the measurable. That is not to say that Western medical diagnosis and treatment is not valuable, I just believe it is incomplete.

In this section I will show you how I have made use of this very elegant and logical system of energy medicine for the benefit of my patients and for my own ongoing education and continued learning.

My intention is also to show that a truly holistic approach to your child must be inclusive, not exclusive of other modalities and ways of thinking. To me, this is a much more realistic way to evaluate and treat your child and is the underpinning of my striving to promote what I call "Reality Based Medicine".

The Chinese medicine system is a huge academic field unto itself and I will not even try to duplicate the many resources that are available both online and offline.

Instead, this will be a practical and simplified presentation specifically for parents who have limited time and just want the relevant information that will have the most direct impact on their own child and family.

As I have mentioned before, your understanding and influence as a parent is key to your child's health and wellbeing, and far outweighs anything those of us in the practitioner role could possibly do in our limited interactions with you and your child, either in person or via other forms of communication.
